Transparency Report
Where does the money go?
I am a firm believer that, whilst oversharing is a thing and mystery can bring magic, I also believe in full transparency where it's valued, and overdue.
In a world where you, as the audience, can have everything on a plate for free (hello Spotify!), it becomes harder each day for working musicians to make an honest living.
It feels wrong. Capitalism goes against many of the morals we inhibit, as creative individuals, and can cause an ethical headache.
Therefore, I try to update this section with a rough breakdown of where your money goes so you have good faith it is not going on the "rock n roll lifestyle" (though you're welcome to manifest that idea if it makes me "cool"!)
Thank you for supporting New Art Riot
Yours,

PASSIVE PARTICIPATION
Interacting with my website and content that don't cost you anything
INCOME SOURCES: Creator Funds (e.g. YouTube ads), On-site ads (e.g. AdSense), Affiliate links (e.g. Amazon, Flare Audio).
HELPS TO FUND content creation costs such as:
Analysis Software (e.g. Tubebuddy) - £150 (per year) - Helps me see what's working well and what needs improving.
Scheduling Software (e.g. Publer) - No cost at the moment, but if I need to add extra channels I'll update this section.
SEO Software (e.g. Frase) - £15 per month, helps me increase traffic to my blog to generate more affiliate revenue.
Collaboration Cost (e.g. props, location expenses) - Nothing as yet, but can start at £50 all for an in-person podcast interview, for example.
Equipment Emergency Fund - £50 per month. The bare minimum cost of a setup that allows for video creation is £2,000, and this can go up to £5,000 for a professional setup. I call this “desk costs” since it doesn't include a good smartphone or musical instruments, etc. Some tech lasts 10+ years (e.g. a good monitor), whilst others up to 3 years (e.g. a Mac Mini/Mid-Range Windows Desktop).
HIRING ME IN MY DAY JOB
INCOME SOURCES: You (and businesses), as a client, paying for my professional services at Chargia.co
HELPS TO FUND: Corporations and the Government, also known as “the bills and taxes” (urgh).
I work as a freelancer, or as I like to call myself, a digital handyman, doing odd-jobs for people to fund the ever growing cost of living crisis. This includes blogging, website copy and social media amongst other services.
Long-term I hope to make money from producing works for other people and businesses, as well as publishing songs that will hopefully one day get cut by a major artist at a major label so I can get some royalties!
If you've got this far and you're interested, then visit chargia.co and drop me an email over there!
